The heated areas of HMA plants experience extreme thermal shock on a daily basis and the factory applied high temperature paint eventually deteriorates and fails. After 6-8 years in the sun, most plants will need to be repainted. Add 400° heat to the equation and the paint on the heated areas of HMA Plant usually dulls after 5 years. We use Highland International Heat Resistant Dry-Fall coatings and High Temperature Heat Paint, Sherwin Williams, Dempsey Products, Volatile Free and DuPont.

The coating we use is a VOC compliant high performance silicone coating formulated for the protection of the interior surfaces of Baghouses and other air pollution control equipment exposed to a combination of high temperatures and aggressive environments. Our coatings are designed to protect metal surfaces operating at temperatures up to 600°F (315°C). They provide a tough, chemical and abrasion resistant film with excellent thermal shock properties.

A heat-resistant, VOC compliant, silicone-copolymer coating designed primarily for temperature indicating applications in the 400°F-650°F (200°C-325°C) range. When applied to processing equipment operating at elevated temperatures, the color change provided by our coating gives an early warning of vessel overheating due to the bypassing of hot gases. From ambient temperature to point of failure our coatings maintain a high degree of color stability. Generally color changes occur over a temperature range of 25°F-50°F depending on specific formulation.
